The church started in 2001 when a few Leicester-based members of the Birmingham International Church of Christ began to meet weekly in a front room in Leicester. From there the church flourished as it began to meet at the YMCA in East Street, first of all in the Percy Barratt room, and then later downstairs in the main Y-Theatre itself.
Today we are led by Michael and Sima Knowles who have been here pretty much since the beginning!
They are supported by a lay leadership team composed of Marilyn Dean and Duncan and Juliette Lawrence.
All of them can be contacted with any queries.
The Leicester Church of Christ is a member of the International Churches of Christ more information of which can be found at https://www.disciplestoday.org/

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
There is one true God who reveals himself to the world as The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus is the Son of God, and our only Lord and Saviour, crucified for our sins and resurrected from the dead on the third day. (Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4)
The Bible is inspired and forms the basis for our beliefs and is also the constitutional authority for the church’s faith and life (2 Timothy 3: 15-17, Romans 15)
Rebirth comes by repentance and baptism for the forgiveness of sins and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2: 36-41, 1 Peter 3: 20-21, Romans 6: 3-7)
There is a need for a continuing devotion to imitate Christ’s love for God, love for righteousness and love for others. (Philippians 2: 1-5; 2 Cor 5: 20, 1 John 2: 3-6)
